The best way to tell you about Revolutionaries Market is to look at the logo!
The Two Birds
The two birds represent Beth and Bonnie Getchell, the mother and daughter team that form Revolutionaries Market. They both are originally from Florida and have a love for painting, furniture, crafting, garage saling, and thrifting. Thirteen year old Bonnie used to roll her eyes at her Mom’s weekly garage saling and thrifting, but after moving on her own to Georgia, she finally caught the garage sale bug! Bonnie started a blog (Revolutionaries Blog) in 2011 to share about her furniture redos, and then she opened her own craft/furniture booth in 2013. Beth rocked her own furniture redos out of her garage and in a craft/furniture booth in Florida, too! Finally, in 2016 the pair joined forces to open Revolutionaries Market in Downtown Monroe, Georgia!
The name Revolutionaries comes from one of Bonnie’s favorite songs, “Revolutionaries” by Bethany Dillon. The song talks about going against the crowd and not settling with what the world has to offer. At the end Bethany sings, "Come with me, they'll call us revolutionaries"-- Beth and Bonnie want to be a part of a generation of Revolutionaries that are willing to stand up for what’s right, do good in our community, love people, and be a light in a dark world.
The tree is the most important part of the logo. It comes from Psalm 1:1-3 which says,
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leafdoes not wither— whatever they do prospers.”
Bonnie once heard a pastor say, “You see the growth of the tree through its roots -- and its roots change and effect everything around it.” If you’ve ever seen tree roots break up concrete or effect the foundation of a home, you know this is true! When someone has a strong relationship with Christ, they have firm, strong roots, and in turn, those roots have the ability to change everything around it (the people they interact with, their home, their community, etc). Beth and Bonnie want to have strong roots that effect their business, family, customers, and the community of Monroe.
"Cause of the Month"
10% of our sales will go toward our "Cause of the Month," which will be displayed at the front of the Market and online. We'll choose a cause (a non-profit organization in our community) each month through nominations from customers or organizations that have filled out our Cause of the Month Application. Our desire is to give back to this amazing community we love!
