Hey, friends! Are you singing Makers Gonna Make to the tune of Taylor Swift's song? If not, you probably are now. #socatchy

In the last few weeks we've added four new Makers to our shop and we are so excited to have them join us! We want to provide our customers with local, quality, handmade items and the Makers we've added have just that. We thought it would be cool to introduce you all to them so we can be best friends! First up is AddyLu Candles - meet Lindsey!

From Lindsey:

Addylu Candles are made with soy wax – a natural, non-toxic, eco-friendly resource that’s 100% American made. Soy candles burn cleaner, cooler, slower, and more evenly than traditional petroleum or paraffin based wax candles. The fragrance oils I use are high quality, non-toxic, phthalate-free, and enhanced with natural essential oils.

Addylu Candles are lovingly made by me, Lindsey, in my home in Bethlehem, Georgia. I started making candles in 2014 when my baby girl Addy was just a few months old, because I wanted to burn only what would be safe around my baby - soy wax, natural wick candles.

Each candle is carefully created in small batches, with the goal of a great-smelling, high-quality soy candle!

I love making custom candles! I have created candles for baby showers, wedding favors, shop "signature scents", family reunion gifts, and a resort grand opening! Let me make a special candle for your next event!

Before and After: Detailed Gray Bedroom Set!

Hey friends! This is our first official before and after post with the store open and it feels so good! We're so thankful with how well everything is going so far! We sold several furniture pieces so we were painting like crazy last week (which is a wonderful problem to have)! I found this gorgeous set and fell in love with all of the details:

I thought these would be an easy project, especially with my Earlex HV5500 paint sprayer, but they turned out to be pretty difficult. I painted them with General Finishes Antique White and then had horrible bleed-through. I'm not sure if there were stains that I just didn't see until I started painting, or what, but no matter what I did or technique I tried (even my Shellac technique), the bleed-through kept coming. Instead of crying my eyes out, I decided to paint it a darker color -- General Finishes Driftwood. I had no problems with the bleed-through after that, so I did a little happy dance in my garage!

I lightly distressed the details and all of the edges to really make the details pop! I loved how the white popped through a little bit, too!

Then, I finished the pieces with two coats of General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Flat.

Ready to see the after!?

These cuties are at the shop for $449 (for the 3 piece set), so come by and shop with us!

Revolutionaries Market Renovation: Final Reveal!

I'm sitting at the counter of the Market and I can hardly believe I'm writing this -- the Revolutionaries Market Renovation is done and our Grand Opening was incredible! If this is your first time here, make sure you start with these posts first to see where we started:

I have SO many pictures, so bear with me! I'm going to jump right into it!

The Outside:

It took us a while to get the front just right, but I love the way it turned out! The glass storefront is so beautiful and gives the store a lot of natural light!

Our good friends at Cooper Signage and Graphics created our sign and, as we've shared before, our friend Josh at Hipster Perspective created our logo.

Monroe Downtown gave us these adorable planters to use in the alleyway! It's amazing how paint and plants can completely change a space!

The large mantel piece was the original header above the garage door. I saw them tear it down during demo and luckily they saved it for me! I paired it with some chippy corbels from my friend Michael, and my Dad secured it to the wall (which was a HUGE job in itself!)

My Dad also built the counter with the tongue and groove wood that we salvaged from the building. It's the same tongue and groove wood that is continued in the recessed areas of the store.

Our register was made by the talented guys at WOODESIGNERS. Scott and Tom were so amazing to work with!

To the left of the front door, you'll find our chalkboard map with our classes and Cause of the Month

On the other side of the wall of doors, you'll find our classroom:

My Dad built the table too (I know, he's amazing)! He used wood that we saved from the building for the top. I love all of the character it has!

Right outside of the classroom is our Paint / DIY area! We used the recessed area as a "built in" shelf for our General Finishes products!

We used an old ladder to display our BB Frosch products which include Chalk Paint Powder, clear & dark wax, and paint & wax brushes.

Then we have our hardware, sand paper, and other DIY supplies! The table in the middle was made with the original bathroom door and the blue piece on the right we found in the building as well.

On the other side of the room is the "coffee corner" where my friend Crystal is selling cute coffee cups and hand-painted signs!

Next to that is the other recessed area that used to be a window:

Then, we have hand-made and hand-stamped jewelry from my friend Jessica at Beyond the Stars Boutique

It's really quite dangerous that her jewelry is in the shop because I want. all. the. things. (Especially the junk lover necklace above!)

Next we have our fabulous prints by Hipster Perspective. Josh is not only a talented graphic designer (he did my logo) or website designer (he designed my website), but he is an amazing friend. He helped me stage, price, clean, or really anything I could think of the week before our Grand Opening. So thankful for him!

While I feel silly for showing you the "after" of the bathroom, it's a pretty big deal because it used to be a hole in the floor and some pipes coming out of the wall.

Outside of the bathroom and to the right of the front door is my favorite piece of the entire shop: an old organ! I shared a before picture on our Facebook/Instagram last week, but I'll do a full before and after post down the road!

Revolutionaries Market Renovation: Final Reveal!

This piece isn't for sale, so we use it as a display and it's a place for customers to sign up for our mailing list.

That's the full tour! What do you think!?

Every day I walk in and I can hardly believe that my Mom and I own a store! I am so thankful!

Revolutionaries Market Renovation: Final Reveal!

Oh, and our Grand Opening? It was AMAZING! I'll do another post next week with the photos from that!

Really quick I must do my "awards speech":

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has helped make this a reality -- Abhiram (the owner of the building who funded the renovation and allowed me to be a part of it), Mike McCllellan (the contractor), the Monroe DDA, my amazing parents and brother, friends who have lovingly listened to me dream and pray about this for years, friends and family who helped paint, clean, etc.,  family who came from Florida to support us at our Grand Opening, my church family who has prayed and supported me, and SO many who have loved me from afar through this little ol' blog that I started 5 years ago.

My heart is full!
