Before and After: The Hexagon Side Table

Happy Monday! Just wanted to share another quick furniture redo that I finished last week! I shared the piece on my Instagram/Twitter/Facebook when I found it at a garage sale, but here's a reminder of what I started out with-- a very dated hexagon side table:

Is it bad that I had to google "shape with six sides" to figure out the shape? Yikes. Haha!

I sanded it a little, primed it, and then painted it the same color that I used for The White and Brown Beauty.

I also painted some hardware that I had on hand with the lovely "Espresso" spray paint by Rust-Oleum.

I finished this piece off by distressing it around the edges (which makes it even more lovely, I think). Then, I sealed it with Polycrylic (I'm too scared to use polyurethane after my polyurethane nightmare). Polycrylic worked perfectly for my mid-century side tables, too!

I promise some color will come into my painting life, soon. As I always say, white pieces sell in my craft and furniture booth way faster, so for now, most of the pieces will be white!

What pieces have you been working on? Leave links to your projects in the comment section below and I promise I will check them out!

Before & After: The Lovely White Dresser

I've been busy, busy, busy with furniture redos for my booth. I've already shared one redo-- the White and Brown Beauty -- so if you haven't seen it, check it out.. it's my favorite!

This is another furniture redo that I painted the same color. You might be thinking.. "White again, Bonnie?"... but yes, unfortunately for my color-loving-self, aqua pieces don't sell as quickly as white ones. Here's what I started with:

A beautiful wood piece that I purchased at a garage sale for $20!

Yes, I painted real wood instead of stripping it down and staining it. I'm not a good stainer and I like the fresh look that paint gives a piece like this. I'm sorry to all of you who are die-hard wood fans!

Regardless, isn't it lovely now?

I painted it "Creamy White" by Behr after giving it a good sanding. Then, I distressed the edges a bit and gave it a coat of poly. I painted the hardware "Espresso" in satin by Rust-oleum-- a beautiful contrast against the white.

I love all of it's little nooks and details, don't you?

Before & After: The White and Brown Beauty

Ohhhh guys! I'm so excited to show you my latest furniture redo! I've hinted at it several times on my Instagram/Facebook/Twitter and even shared a picture of the dresser the day I found it for $10 at a garage sale. Here's a reminder of what it looked like before (sorry the before pictures are from my phone):

Yup, it was pretty ugly. It had great bones, though, and that hardware... like I've said before, if loving a dresser's hardware is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Now that you think I'm a freak...

After sanding it, painting 5 coats of "Creamy White" by Behr, a coat of poly, and then painting the hardware "Espresso" in satin by Rust-Oleum, here she is:

Have I mentioned that the hardware is gorgeous, yet? Because it is.

Now I'll just have to pry it from my death grip in order to get it to my booth. I've never wanted a piece not to sell so bad in my life.

What do you guys think? Hope you're having a fantastic weekend!

Oh, and don't forget to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see how/when/where I find pieces. You can even give me advice on what to do with them, too!
